Easy Protein Banana Bites

These Protein Banana Bites are proof that healthy snacks don't have to be boring. Perfect for meal prep, an afternoon snack, or whenever you're craving something sweet without reaching for store-bought treats.

If you’re looking for a healthy snack that tastes a little like banana bread and a little like dessert, these Protein Banana Bites are hard to beat. They’re easy to make, packed with protein, and perfect for meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 60 g spelt flour
  • 90 g almond flour
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Sugar-free vanilla syrup to taste

For the coating:

  • Dark chocolate, melted
  • Optional toppings: crushed freeze-dried raspberries, chopped nuts, coconut flakes, or sea salt

Instructions

  1. Start by placing the banana in a mixing bowl and mashing it with a fork until smooth. Add the spelt flour, almond flour, honey, almond butter, protein powder, cinnamon, salt, and a splash of sugar-free vanilla syrup. Mix everything together until a dough forms.

  2. If the dough feels too sticky, simply wet your hands slightly or add a little more flour until it’s easy to work with. Roll the mixture into small bite-sized balls and place them in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. This helps them firm up and makes the chocolate coating much easier later on.

  3. Once chilled, melt your dark chocolate and dip each banana bite until fully coated. Place them on a lined tray and immediately sprinkle over your favorite toppings. I personally love using crushed freeze-dried raspberries because they add a slight tartness that pairs perfectly with the sweet banana and chocolate.

  4. Transfer the bites to the freezer for about 1 hour until the chocolate has fully set. Then simply enjoy straight from the fridge whenever you need a quick protein-packed snack.

My Favorite Ingredient Upgrades

For the almond butter, I personally love using crunchy almond butter because it adds a little extra texture and surprisingly good macros.

I also never skip the sugar-free vanilla syrup. Together with the vanilla protein powder, it gives these bites a delicious banana bread flavor that makes them taste much more indulgent than they actually are.
